This Privacy Policy describes how Prelisse collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our application. We are committed to keeping your data safe and being transparent about our practices.
1. Information We Collect
Prelisse collects minimal personal information:
- Account ID: When you connect to save, we assign an identifier tied to your session. No email, phone number, or personal identity is required to browse Style Cards.
- Hair Profile: Your default hair texture and length preferences, stored so the app can tailor Style Cards to you.
- Style Brief & Card Data: Scenarios you select (such as Work or Casual), style goals, optional details (hair day, humidity, heat tools), generated Style Card steps, saved cards, wear-again history, and Chronicle entries.
- Usage Data: We may collect anonymous, aggregated data about how you use the app, such as which features you use and general interaction patterns. This data cannot be linked back to you personally.
- Look Photos (optional): Only photos you explicitly choose or take are saved — for example, as optional look snapshots attached to a saved Style Card or Chronicle entry. We never access your camera roll automatically. With your permission, we may access your device camera or photo library when you attach a look photo.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Generate personalized Style Cards with PREP, DRY, STYLE, and FINISH steps.
- Save cards to your Library, track wear-again history, and maintain your Chronicle.
- Sync your saved data across devices when you are connected.
- Improve card quality, fix bugs, and understand feature usage in aggregate.
- Respond to support requests when you contact us.
3. What We Do NOT Do
- We do not build facial recognition profiles or biometric identity templates.
- We do not identify or verify individual identities from photos.
- We do not share your photos with third parties for advertising purposes.
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not show ads in the app.
- We do not track your location.
4. Optional Photos & Camera
When you attach optional look photos, here's what you should know:
- Photos are used solely for the feature you requested — saved as look snapshots on saved cards or Chronicle entries.
- We do not create, store, or transmit facial recognition templates, biometric data, or face maps.
- Look photos are stored on your device and may be synced to secure cloud storage when you are connected.
- You can remove look photos or delete saved cards and history at any time within the app.
5. Where Data Is Stored
- Saved cards, preferences, Chronicle history, and look photos are primarily stored on your device.
- When you connect to save, your data may be mirrored to secure cloud infrastructure, encrypted in transit and at rest.
- We apply access controls so only systems that need the data can reach it.
6. Free Service
Prelisse is free to use with no ads. We do not process payment information or offer in-app purchases.
7. Analytics
We may use anonymous, aggregated analytics to understand general app usage patterns and improve your experience. This includes crash reports and session counts. Install attribution may be measured where enabled. This data cannot be linked back to you personally.
8. Third-Party Services
- Cloud Infrastructure: Provides secure storage for saved cards, Chronicle entries, and app configuration when sync is enabled.
- Analytics & Attribution: Aggregated install and campaign measurement where enabled.
Each third-party service operates under its own privacy policy.
9. Data Retention
- Your saved cards, preferences, and Chronicle history remain stored on your device until you clear or delete them.
- You can delete individual saved cards or your entire account from the Me tab.
- If you delete your account or request deletion, your information will be removed in accordance with our retention schedule.
10. Your Rights
- You may update your Hair Profile anytime in the Me tab.
- You may delete saved cards, Chronicle entries, or look photos within the app.
- You may delete your account and all associated data from the Me tab.
- You may request deletion of all your data by contacting us.
11. Children's Privacy
Prelisse is intended for users aged 12 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 12.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Effective Date" above. Continued use of Prelisse after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
